fercy021@mymail.unisa.edu.au

What are you studying?

Master of Finance (Financial Planning)

What made you want to become a student representative?

The excitement of starting Uni comes along with the new challenges. I understand and know how it feels to be a student, especially an international one. I have always advocated and defended fairness in every aspect of life. As a student in my first Sem, I faced certain unpleasant situations which affected my study. My leadership experience and awards (former Associate Vice President with a global bank and a current scholarship winner of the FAAA 2023 Congress Students and Emerging Professionals Sponsorship Program) taught me to have a forward thinking and always strive for solutions for myself and my fellow classmates. Then on, I was certain that I will advocate on behalf of every student, along with USASA, who supported me in my first sem.

What do you aim to achieve for UniSA studnets in 2024?

My aim is to help every student to bring out the best in themselves by learning and exceling at their coursework, volunteering and participating in as many Uni activities as possible, and helping them become leaders in the global workforce.

What is the best thing about your campus?

Situated in the heart of the city, City West Campus is one of the best campuses you can ask for. We have the best of amenities and guidance, excellent student spaces, cutting edge studios with modern learning places and a host of student activities all at a stone's throw away from major attractions in the city. The campus also boasts of the Iress Trading Room & also has a gym and multisport courts. But, by far the best is the swimming pool. Ain't no campus got that! You can literally be here all day and get everything you need on this Campus.

Mawson Lakes Student Representative

Henry Zampoli (He/Him)

piray006@mymail.unisa.edu.au

What are you studying?

Bachelor of Information Technology

What made you want to become a student representative?

I wanted to become a student representative with the aim of actively engaging in our university community. My motivation comes from a desire to address the concerns and needs of fellow students, working towards creating a safer and more enriching experience for everyone on campus.

What is the best thing about your campus?

As a Bachelor of IT student, I really like the Mawson Lakes campus because it strikes a balance between high-tech facilities and a relaxing natural environment. On one side, you've got all the modern tech and great study spaces for academics. But on the flip side, there are these spacious green fields where you can chill and take a break when needed. It's a cool mix of advanced stuff and a peaceful escape that makes studying here pretty enjoyable.

What is your best piece of advice for your fellow students?

Prioritize time management and self-care. Balancing academics and personal well-being is essential for a successful university experience.

Which UniSA events are you looking forward to this year?

I'm excited about two UniSA events: Drag Night, a fun and artistic experience, and the Campus Fair, the best place to join clubs and make new friends.

What instantly puts you in a good mood?

Hanging out with my friends is always the best thing to bring me in a good mood, and relax.

How do you care yourself on mindfulness?

I prioritize my mental well-being through a combination of practices that resonate with me. Meditation and regular gym sessions help me stay centered and physically fit. Seeking psychological support when needed has been invaluable in navigating life's challenges.

But it's not just about individual practices; I believe in the power of community and active engagement. Being part of activities and the local community is uplifting, and I've learned to say 'yes' to opportunities that bring a smile to my face.

If you could have dinner with anyone - dead or alive, who would it be and why?

If I had the chance to dine with someone, it'd definitely be Coco Chanel. Her fashion sense was way ahead of its time, focusing on simplicity, practicality, and sheer elegance. Believe it or not, those principles strike a chord not just with fashionistas but also with the tech crowd. Coco's timeless style and her knack for user-centric design vibes perfectly with the heart of the IT industry. Imagine chatting with her about how her design philosophy has seeped into the digital world, making user interfaces and tech products sleek and user-friendly. That dinner would be like a crossroads of fashion, tech, and design – a fantastic insight into how Coco Chanel's ideas still shape the IT world today.
